DGK Donates to Pre-School Funding

December 7th, 2009

DGK Insurance & Financial Services recently donated more than $2,000.00 to the Pre-School Scholarship Program, administered by The Community Foundation of Susquehanna & Wyoming Counties. The donation sponsors tuition scholarships for local pre-school students from low and moderate income families in Wyoming and Susquehanna counties who are struggling in today’s economy to provide quality education to their young children.

Since 2003, The Community Foundation has provided more than 300 pre-school scholarships to children attending seventeen area pre-schools, granting’s close to $275,000 in full and part scholarships. ” It was important to our employee-owners that they give back to the community that has made them successful, and offering children a chance at early childhood education has a lasting effect on the future of our area.” said Kathleen Glattly, President of DGK Insurance.

“We thank DGK Insurance very much, ” said Peter Quigg, President of The Community Foundation. ” They were very enthusiastic about the program from the moment they learned of it, knowing the satisfaction they received from funding these scholarships, and most importantly the assistance this will provide to local families.”
